From Childhood Dreams to Design Passion

From a young age, I was captivated by the idea of turning ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones. Growing up, I have fond memories of visiting my mum’s friends’ homes or our annual stays at my grandma's charming old house, where I would dream about transforming each room into a haven of modern comfort and timeless beauty.

After finishing school, I initially set out to pursue a formal path in interior design by enrolling in a local TAFE course in Adelaide. However, I quickly realized that the outdated curriculum left me uninspired and uncertain about my future in the field. Feeling disillusioned, I decided to step away from design altogether, unsure if it was truly the right path for me.

I turned to my other love—caring for others—and found fulfilment in a five-year career in nursing and midwifery. Yet, my passion for creating beautiful interiors never faded. I continued to immerse myself in the world of interior design, devouring design books, exploring creative ideas, and experimenting with sustainable materials and renovation projects in our first home, alongside my builder husband.

Embracing a Self-Taught Path

The turning point came with the arrival of our first child, a transformative moment that reignited my passion for design. Determined to pursue my dreams, I restarted my design studies, only to realize once again that I didn’t need a certificate on the wall to make beautiful, personalized homes for others. I chose to forge my own path as a self-taught interior designer in Adelaide, believing that my creativity, determination, and hands-on experience were enough to bring my vision to life.

Building on this momentum, I took on the renovation of our next home, focusing on maximizing its market appeal and value. This project allowed me to refine my approach to designing spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and strategically positioned for resale in the Adelaide market. The images from this renovation are featured in the portfolio section of my website, showcasing my ability to create contemporary, market-ready homes that resonate with buyers.

My background in midwifery taught me empathy, understanding, and the importance of truly listening to people’s hopes and dreams—qualities that guide my approach to interior design today. I listen deeply to my clients, ensuring that each home reflects their unique stories, values, and aspirations. I’m not bound by traditional rules; instead, I’m inspired by what feels authentic, timeless, and true to you.

I specialize in blending organic textures, calming colours, and sustainable materials to create spaces that feel luxurious, inviting, and harmonious.
